ResuLabs (“ResuLabs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is operated by Mohammed Atheequr Rahman, a sole proprietorship based in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, India. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use beta.resulabs.com and any related services (the “Service”).

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information you provide directly

• Account information: name, email address, password (or OAuth login details if you sign in via Google/LinkedIn etc.)
• Resume content: work experience, education, skills, contact details, and any other information you type, upload, or import into your resume, including resumes uploaded for preview/import
• Job description text: the job descriptions you paste in for AI tailoring
• Payment information: if you make a purchase, our payment processor (Razorpay) collects your payment details directly. We do not store your card, UPI, or bank details on our servers.
• Communications: messages you send us via email or support channels

1.2 Information collected automatically

• Log data (IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, timestamps)
• Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 6)
• Usage analytics (how you interact with the resume builder and AI tailoring features)

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Create and manage your account
• Provide the core resume-building and AI tailoring features
• Send your resume content and job descriptions to our AI processing systems to generate tailored resume content and match-score insights
• Process payments and send transaction confirmations
• Respond to support requests
• Improve and troubleshoot the Service, including during this beta testing phase
• Send you product updates, provided you have not opted out
• Comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

3. AI Processing of Your Data

To generate tailored resumes, your resume content and the job description you paste in are sent to third-party AI model providers for processing. These providers process this data solely to generate the output shown to you and do not use it to build a public profile about you. We do not permit our AI processing to fabricate new skills, positions, education, or credentials — the AI is restricted to rephrasing and reorganizing content you have already provided.

4. How We Share Your Information

We share information only in these circumstances:

• Service providers: cloud hosting, database, and AI processing providers who help us operate the Service, bound by confidentiality obligations
• Payment processor: Razorpay, to process transactions
• Legal requirements: if required by law, court order, or governmental request
• Business transfers: if ResuLabs is involved in a merger, acquisition, or asset sale, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction, subject to this policy
• With your consent: for any other purpose you explicitly approve

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored in our database on secure cloud infrastructure. We take reasonable technical and organizational measures (encryption in transit, access controls) to protect your data. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We currently operate as an early-stage beta product. While we take data protection seriously, features such as advanced audit logging and formal certifications are still being built out as we grow.

6. Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect how the Service functions.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account and resume data for as long as your account is active, or as needed to provide the Service. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time (see Section 9). We may retain limited information where required for legal, tax, or fraud-prevention purposes.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent for processing (which may limit your ability to use certain features)
• Export your data

9. Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your ResuLabs account and associated data by emailing hello@resulabs.com. We will process deletion requests within a reasonable time, except where we are required to retain certain data by law.

10. Children’s Privacy

The Service is not directed at individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

11. International Users

ResuLabs is based in India and primarily governed by Indian data protection law, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, where applicable. If you access the Service from outside India, your information will be transferred to and processed in India.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, particularly as we exit beta and add features. We will update the “Last updated” date above and, for material changes, notify you via email or an in-app notice.
